Pasar Senen Traders Selling on Roadside Controlled

The ranks of Central Jakarta Administration did a raid against illegal traders along Jalan Senen Raya and Senen Train Station, Central Jakarta. In the field, personnel managed to seize dozens of stalls and carts. Those are traders from Pasar Senen Block-III that was burned in fire a while ago.

"Before the raid, I had warned the traders to immediately tidy up their wares from sidewalk and road," stressed Senen Sub-District Head, Lola Lopita, Tuesday (5/27).

Lopita stated, hundreds of joint personnel were deployed to the field in order to smoothen the raid. They consist of 150 Satpol PP, 30 janitors, 10 police, and 25 security officers of Pasar Senen Block I-VI. "Actually, we only focused on clothes traders, yet officers saw other traders sell on the road and sidewalk. Thus we also control them," she told.

She furthered, the raid has been through coordination stage with PD Pasar Jaya. Moreover, all traders of Block-III have been relocated to temporary shelter and access road next to the Sport Hall (GOR) towards Jalan Bungur and Jalan Stasiun Senen already opened.

"The traders are controlled, because other traders have occupied the temporary shelter," she stated.

Post-raid, her side hopes Satpol PP can also participate to oversee traders at Pasar Senen for three days ahead in order to anticipate illegal traders. Then its expectation was already agreed by Head of Central Jakarta Satpol PP, Yadi Rusmayadi. 

"The raid run smoothly, because many traders are cooperative to demolish the stalls by themselves," expressed Rusmayadi

He told that those stalls and carts have been transported to four trucks and then will be kept at Cakung warehouse, East Jakarta. "We transport dozens of stalls and carts owned by traders to our truck," he uttered.
